This is REALLY interesting.

When Jim Lovelock, Lynn Margulis and (her then hubby) Carl Sagan were working on the Viking project, Lovelock couldn’t sort where Earth’s methane came from. Lynn said, from cow and termite ‘gas'…due to methane making microbes in their ‘digestive' systems.

That started their life-long collaboration….resulting in Gaia Theory!
