Connecticut Landmarks seeks a part-time Director of Donor Development to manage all aspects of our donor development program for twelve historic properties across the state. 

 

Responsibilities:

·        Plan and manage fundraising events

·        Support Members of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Director in their relationship building and fundraising activities with individuals, foundations and corporations.

·        Provide for on-going promotion of membership and sponsorship opportunities

·        Support facility rental efforts

·        Plan, develop and execute strategies for obtaining private donations; identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects (individuals, corporations and foundations).

·        Implement and supervise systematic efforts to identify, solicit, steward, maintain and upgrade annual giving donors.

·        Provide stewardship in recognition of donor philanthropy.

·        Manage annual and special (capital, endowment) campaigns, corporate and foundation support, major and planned giving.

·        Provide leadership for all external relationship building with a variety of constituencies; work with volunteers and others to identify linkage, ability and interest of major gift prospects; assist leadership in efforts to identify sources and prepare proposals to government, corporations, foundations and private granting agencies.

·        Manage development support staff (Marketing & Development Associate)

 

Position requirements:
• At least 5 years of demonstrated fundraising experience, including donor relations, event planning, major gift fundraising and grant writing

• Have a demonstrated ability to raise money from a variety of sources, including individuals, foundations and corporations

• Be experienced and comfortable developing and sustaining meaningful relationships with major donors, grant funders, board, staff, volunteers, community leaders, political leaders, businesspeople and other stakeholders

• Be proficient with fundraising databases and Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Power Point

• Previous work in the museum or preservation field extremely desirable

• Familiarity with Hartford and Capital Region a plus
