Director of Human Resources, Auction House, New York

For our world-renowned auction house client’s New York office we are seeking a Director of Human Resources.  The position reports to the CEO and is responsible for all aspects of human resources including talent management and acquisition, organizational development, compensation and benefits, legal compliance needs and employee relations.  Duties include but are not limited to: design initiatives to attract, retain and develop staff; manage all talent acquisitions needs; manage an HR Manager in the London office; develop and cultivate relations with talent pools; manage the recruitment process, including legal terms and agreements; manage all employee relations concerns including coaching and advising managers; develop, support and communicate organizational best practices; review, maintain and develop employee health and related benefits; other duties as required.  The ideal applicant will have at least 8 years’ experience working in human resources for an arts & culture business or organization  and excellent interpersonal, communications, strategic and coaching skills.BA required; degree in Human Resources Management preferred.  An excellent opportunity for a hands-on people-oriented professional who understands the business model and can create a strong internal employee culture.  Some travel required.  Salary to $175K DOE and excellent benefits.  Please send resume with detailed cover letter and contact information for at least three references to Geri Thomas, President, at [log in to unmask]
