Here in northwest Arkansas, the Arkansas Air Museum "merged" with the Arkansas Military Museum.

That's in quotes because I'm not sure just how married they are, but they share facilities and maybe governance.

Might give Sally at the Air Museum a call.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Mergers

I am turning to your collective wisdom for some examples, and I am hoping they exist.  Are there Museums that have merged with other non-profit organizations?  For example a museum merging with a theatre?  Or examples of multiple organizations under one umbrella?  The Buggy Museum is looking to explore the possibility of merging with another non-profit, but we are looking  for others who have done this in order to discuss success and failure.  Any examples (especially places that would be willing to discuss candidly the pros and cons) would be greatly appreciated.

Please reply off list.  Thank you!
