The Alumni and Development Division operates a shared services model of alumni and development operations across faculties/divisions. The Development Office is responsible for providing the direction, co-ordination and management of the fundraising programs for the University, including the Sydney Development Fund, major gift programs, a robust and comprehensive bequest program, all supporting a $600M University-wide fundraising campaign that is currently in progress.

 

We are seeking a Development Manager, Museums to manage and nurture philanthropic relationships with potential donors with an interest in the visual arts, fine arts, history, museums and culture. The primary objective of the role will be securing with major philanthropic gifts that support the development of a new art and culture precinct as part of the University’s 2020 Master plan. 

 

Reporting to the Director of Development, Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a dotted reporting line to the Director, Museums and Cultural Engagement, you will:

 

·         take a  leadership role in the management of the units’ portfolio of prospective individual and corporate donors

·         develop and execute plans for solicitation of each prospect in the portfolio for a major gift

·         ensure existing donors are well-stewarded and appropriately recognised by the unit and the broader University

·         lead major gift activity at all stages, including the development of a portfolio of funding opportunities.

 

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

·         an ability to "ask and close" fundraising commitments

·         strong relationship skills in working with individuals and corporations

·         ability to think strategically and provide robust, strategic advice on fundraising strategy.

 

 

This highly-visible role will engage your natural “consultative selling” talents and ability to connect with people to build lasting relationships which generate major gifts for the development of a new cultural museums complex for the University.

 

Remuneration package: $109,610 - $123,615 p.a. (which includes a base salary of $92,621 - $104,456 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
