This year's theme is Information Management in Religious Organizations, and our keynote speaker is Kenneth Inskeep, Director, Research and Evaluation, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and co-author of Chasing Down a Rumor: The Death of Mainline Denominations. Inskeep will discuss "The Decision to Ordain Gay Clergy: The Role of Empirical Data in a Mainline Church." The decision to ordain gay clergy was make by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 2009. The decision held significant implications for the future of the ELCA. He will recount and assess the role empirical data played (and did not play) in making that decision. The conference is scheduled for June 5 & 6, 2014, at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.
