ArtHistoryTeachingResources.org (AHTR) would like to draw your attention to the following online series of Google Hangout discussions on art history pedagogy that may be of interest to you and/or to colleagues teaching in the university or the museum.
  1. Teaching Thematically on Tuesday, May 13 3pm (EDT)
  2. Art History in Summer (School) on Wednesday, June 4 4pm (EDT)
  3. Hacking the MOOC on Tuesday, July 1, 1pm (EDT).
The idea to initiate a series of AHTR Hangouts developed this year at THATCampCAA when a group of art historians gathered to discuss the use of digital technology in the classroom.  The conversation began with ways to crowdsource teaching resources, but soon drifted to such topics as thematically taught classes, the logistics of flipping a class, teaching students technology skills, and ways to assess learning.

The series of Google hangouts will be led by art historian Virginia Spivey and is free and open to all (though spots are limited, so sign up asap).

Full information can be found here on the AHTR site

All best,

Michelle Fisher and Karen Shelby
