On Sunday, May 18, from 6–8 p.m., this year's top innovators in digital media will be announced at a reception honoring the 25th
Annual Muse Awards winners. Nik Honeysett will be Master of Ceremonies and
Awkward Family Photos co-founders Mike Bender and Doug Chernack will speak about how they turned an Internet sensation into a museum exhibition with Awkward
Family Photos: The Exhibition, currently on view at the California Heritage Museum, Santa Monica.
Mike, Doug and all the Muse Award winners will be available to meet and greet at the M&T Breakfast on Tuesday, May 20, from 7:30–8:30 a.m. They will also be choosing the finalist
for the #awkwardAAM submissions competition. Start posting your best awkward photos now to Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #awkwardAAM!
Also on hand will be Merete Sanderhoff, curator, National Gallery of Denmark, who will speak about a recent anthology Sharing
is Caring: Openness and sharing in the cultural heritage sector, featuring inspiring essays by Shelley Bernstein, Michael Edson, Jasper Visser and a range of other experts from top Scandinavian galleries, libraries, archives and museums.
