Good evening, MuseumLers – Looking over the specifications listed on the website (http://www.acousticord.com/index.php/product-formats), I have to raise red flags because of the 80% goat hair fibre content (potential moth/beetle attractant and food; hygroscopic fibre) for the face, the 100% jute fibre content for the backing (becomes very acidic very quickly) and the bonding with either PVC or latex (both off gas in a major way). I haven’t taken a look at the recommended adhesive that would be needed to apply it to your wall surfaces.
Please do not hesitate to contact me off-list if you have any further questions or need further clarification.
..Acousticord wall carpet for one of our galleries and are looking for testimonials/comments from other museums who have used this product. If you have any experience with purchasing, installing, and/or using Acousticord, we would love to hear from you. We have a gallery where we hang photograph and panel exhibits (3-4 per year) and Acousticord seems like a wall covering that can be nailed into without having to constantly repair and repaint the walls. …
Regards,
Meg
