The Speed Art Museum, Louisville, Kentucky, is pleased to announce that we are currently seeking a Curator of Contemporary Art. The Speed is committed to hiring talented individuals who share in the vision of discovering the joy and power of great art. The successful candidate will display curiosity to learn, energy, confidentiality and the ability to work well with others in a team-centered approach that is the core of the work ethic at the Museum.

This position opening comes at an exciting time for the Speed: the museum is engaged in a $60 million expansion and renovation program, creating a unique opportunity for the curator to develop gallery installations and a new outdoor art park, to produce exhibitions, and to shape the growth of the collection. The incumbent will work with a diverse post-World War II collection with opportunities to refine and develop the museum's holdings of contemporary art across all media, including photography and new media art. To fill this key position, we seek candidates who possess demonstrated scholarly expertise, strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to teamwork and creative thinking, and the desire to work with a wide-ranging collection.
