Application period is open for the 2014 Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas (ASC) Collections Internship. ASC is an American Alliance of Museums (AAM) accredited institution with three art galleries, a science gallery, and a 232 seat theater.

This internship is a temporary position in the Collections Department.

Internship description:

The Collections Intern will report to the Curator of Collections and Exhibitions to complete records-based projects related to The Center’s Permanent Collection. ASC is working to complete an inventory of its object records and build more robust object and artist files. Projects will include an inventory of documents in current object files, consolidation of applicable files into object files, and data entry in Past Perfect software. Experience in archives, museum registration, or art collections as well as experience working with Past Perfect software is desired. This position requires accuracy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to track data in organized and timely manner. Ability to write concise object descriptions is also desired.
