Volunteer Coordinator

 

$11.20 - $13.57 per hour

 

 

The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with visitor services staff, co-operating association staff and volunteer staff at Sutter’s Fort to accomplish tasks related to volunteer management and coordination, interpretive programming and special events in order to meet State Park policies and guidelines.  This is a seasonal position and is limited to a maximum of 194 days and/or 1500 hours a year. The Volunteer Coordinator will be required to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed. This person must be able to lift 25 pounds and must have a valid California driver’s license.

 

The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of the Volunteers in Parks Program, strong computer and organizational skills, and be able to interface with docents and volunteers to successfully meet the many programmatic and special event needs at Sutter’s Fort. The volunteer coordinator will be responsible for required reports, docent records and recruiting future volunteers.  The Volunteer Coordinator will participate in the creation of special events, and attend special events as the onsite Lead for volunteer activities.
