Subject: [MUSEUM-L] importing fabrics - duty and other fees?

Dear colleagues,

We are having some silk fabric custom made (replicated) at a mill in France for the re-upholstery of furniture in the museum’s collection. Does anyone have experience with Customs, duty and other applicable fees, how this works and how additional fees could be avoided (non-profit status for example)?

Thank you!
