Tracy Ann,
I am in the same position! I'm also interested in learning more about how
to write grant requests but am not in a professional position with my own
projects. There are some grant writing workshops coming up in my area but
they seem to be geared to current museum professionals with specific
projects and grants. Should I be thinking about attending these programs?
Another question: is it a big no-no to ask for copies of successful grant
requests from mentors or current volunteer supervisors? Some of my current
mentors are very active grant writers (including BLM and government grants)
and I don't want to step on toes. Is this request acceptable or a major
faux pas?
Thanks for any input, and I appreciate the advice given in earlier
responses on this thread.
