Museum Manager
Collier County Museums is currently seeking a full-time Museum Manager at our Naples Depot Museum located at 650 Central Avenue Naples, Florida.

Salary: $25.55-$37.57 Hourly
$2, 043.81-$3,005.58 Biweekly
$53,139.00-$78,145.00 Annually
Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Manages and maintains the daily operations of one of the remote museums in Collier County; plans and executes museum events.
- Manages and maintains public programs; manages educational activities; plans and installs museum exhibitions.
- Cares for and conserves museum collections.
- Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee appraisals; manages volunteers.
- Develops community and professional contacts; promotes public awareness of all the Museums activities.
- Prepares grant and fundraising requests; monitors grants; files grant reports.
- Supervises site maintenance.
- Writes and submits news releases to promote the activities of the museum.
- Oversees the restoration of new projects; promotes public awareness of new projects.
- Operates a computer, printer, facsimile machine, adding machine, copier, telephone, automobile, electric drill, hand tools, or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.
- Generates and maintains correspondence.
- Tracks and counts daily receipts and head counts.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- In the event of a declared emergency, employees in this classification may be called to work during days or hours other than those for which they are regularly scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or Education, with a concentration in History, Archaeology, or Art History, or closely related field; five years of experience in museum management, the administration of funds and personnel, fund-raising, curatorial, historical preservation, or education programming; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
