The Hunt Museum is currently seeking applications for 6-month unpaid internships in its award-winning Education and Public Programmes Department to commence in December 2013 and June 2014. Shorter-term internships (2-3 months) will also be available for
Summer 2014 and will be advertised in February/March 2014. Specifications and application are attached to this email.
The Hunt Museum offers several internships throughout the year to students, recent graduates and early-career Museum professionals. Interns get hands-on experience in the day-to-day operation of The Hunt Museum's Education Department or Administration
Department and have the opportunity to develop a project during the period of their internship under the supervision of department heads, Dr Dominique Bouchard, Hunt Museum Curator of Education and Outreach or Naomi O'Nolan Exhibitions Co-ordinator and Administrator.
Curatorial Internship - Education and Public Programmes (6 or 12 months)
Curatorial interns play a key role in the development of The Hunt's public programme, interpretation and education initiatives. Interns will have opportunities to gain experience in project management, programme development, interpretation, audience development,
and digital media. Past interns have created films, helped curate exhibitions, create and manage festivals and events, contribute to interpretation and even present their work at museum conferences. To find out more, visit the Education Intern Blog here.
5 Spring and 5 Autumn internships are available in 2013/4
Closing date for receipt of materials is 5pm on Friday 25 October 2013. Short-listed applicants will be invited by email to interview 1-2 weeks following the application deadlines above. We regret that due to the volume of applications received only short-listed
candidates will be contacted.
