Also, this method doesn't allow you to import/export the container list fields.

If you go the Excel route, keep in mind that PastPerfect only works with it if you have the actual Microsoft program. It won't work with a free open source version like Open Office or Libre Office. I suspect that a spreadsheet is not the solution you're looking for anyway.

You just have to make sure the titles or headings in your spreadsheet will match up with PastPerfects. You can check their website and access an online version of the manuals for more details on how to do this. Once you have PastPerfect up and running you can still import (and export for that matter) from MS Excel. There are other database system in which data can be transferred.
