Also check with your local funding group - ie United Way, etc. -
Some of these groups have ways to help you and 
some have rules to follow about a non-profit member wishing to search for indep. funding.
  Some rules help schedule such fund raising to avoid too many such efforts all at one time.

Hello, wise listers!


This is not strictly a museum question, but I am hoping that someone will have some insight.  I have been asked to find and write a large grant for our local YMCA (which I have been involved in as a volunteer for a long time).  Although I have written a number of large grants, they have all been through either NEH, IMLS, HPI or NPS.  Where (aside from grants.gov) would one even start to look for a grant to expand a YMCA facility? Any ideas?
