*Education Coordinator:* The Watson-Brown Foundation, Inc. is currently
seeking a uniquely qualified individual for the position of Education
Coordinator for the* T.R.R. Cobb House in Athens, Georgia*. The individual
should be well-spoken and outgoing, an individual who enjoys working with
adolescents and senior adults. The Education Coordinator, under limited
supervision, is primarily responsible for the promoting and scheduling of
group and school tours and providing outreach programs to adults and area
schools. The Education Coordinator will develop, implement, and evaluate
educational programs and resource materials that align with the Common Core
Learning Standards for museum audiences; researches for program and
exhibition educational components; and assists in planning and developing
special events and program initiatives.

 The T.R.R. Cobb House is a 10,500+ sq ft historic house museum devoted to
illuminating the life, character, and accomplishments of Thomas Reade
Rootes Cobb, and the life and history of Athens and the South during the
mid-nineteenth century. Additionally, the Museum serves as a resource for
history, preservation, and education initiatives within the region and
state.

 The Candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in History, Art
History, American Studies, Humanities, Museum Studies, Material Culture,
Social Studies, or Education from a four-year college or university
(Masters preferred). Previous museum or classroom teaching is required. A
knowledge of the history of the Civil War is helpful. The candidate should
have prior curriculum development and possess an ability to present
imaginative educational programs; must be able to create, compose, and edit
written materials; and to plan, organize, and coordinate media activities
and special events. The candidate should be highly organized with the
ability to multitask; possess the ability to use independent judgment, have
excellent oral and written communication skills; have some prior research
experience; and be able to manage and impart information to a range of
clientele and/or media sources. The successful candidate should demonstrate
a flexibility in their work schedule and an ability to work Saturdays and
some evenings. The candidate should possess a proficiency in critical
thinking and analytical skills, be team oriented, and show knowledge of
working with various social media and computer software applications.
Previous experience in running a volunteer program; teaching experience,
and/or knowledge of the Georgia Performance Standards is preferred.

 This is a full-time position with full benefits. Salary is commensurate
