Experience the immersive Air Force One Discovery Center at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library through online presentation and discussion with colleagues from a range of professional perspectives. The Air Force One Discovery Center is designed to inspire the next generation of leaders, allowing students to face the responsibilities and challenges encountered by the Executive branch, military, and media, while engaging in a highly interactive exercise that fosters critical thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills. Discussion leaders will share the process of creating this interactive program, as well as offer research on the value of simulation learning or game-based museum learning experiences.

This program is party of a pilot EdCom Alliance series, “One Good Thing” featuring face-to-face and online professional development opportunities in which participants explore and learn more about a specific program/topic at a local host institution.

Who Should Attend

Cross-departmental teams are encouraged to attend including: museum educators, exhibitions planners, audience research and evaluation professionals, development staff, public programs staff, PR and marketing professionals, visitor services/experience staff, and museum directors or senior staff looking to develop or revise education-related programming pan-institutionally.

About The Air Force One Discovery Center

·         The historical scenario of the Air Force One Discovery Center focuses on the military action taken on the island of Grenada in October of 1983. This immersive, educational experience is designed to inspire the next generation of leaders, allowing students to explore the responsibilities and challenges faced by the Executive branch, military, and media while engaging in a highly interactive simulation exercise that fosters critical thinking, decision-making and leadership skills.

·         Cancellation requests for Alliance professional development programs must be received in writing no later than one week prior to the event date to receive a full refund of your registration fees. Refund requests will not be accepted after that date. The Alliance reserves the right to cancel any program at any time, for any reason. In the event of a program cancellation by the Alliance, attendees will receive a full refund of their registration fees. For face-to-face programs, the Alliance is not responsible for any travel or hotel expenses incurred as a result of your participation or cancellation of an event.
