I agree, the answer is no.


But, could you invite this person or persons to view their donations at a 'special viewing'.  They could see how their object is being cared for, could handle it with white gloves, could be taught the importance of proper care, could be offered tea or coffee [away from the object, of course], and could be asked for financial support to further collections care.  Take a couple of digital snapshots so they can show friends and family the exciting hour they spent with their donation 'behind the scenes'.
