The Folger Shakespeare Library and the American Library Association are planning a project which will bring an original Shakespeare First Folio, along with informative exhibition panels, to every state and territory in the U.S. in 2016, the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare’s death.  The objective is to share the story of Shakespeare’s life and emphasize the power and importance of the written word, and to allow public audiences throughout the U.S. to view an international treasure which is rarely seen outside of major research libraries and museums.

Project planners have created a survey to begin gathering information from potential venues to better understand how to achieve our goals.  We are interested in reaching libraries, museums, historical societies, and other public institutions with the capability of displaying a First Folio (see details in the survey).  Here is the link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/firstfolio

Please let us know if you have questions or comments. Completion of this survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes.

We would like to have surveys completed by June 7, 2013.

Thanks very much for your help,

Susan Brandehoff
