Senior Account Executive, Media Relations, Arts & Culture Communications Firm, New York

For our renowned Arts & Culture PR Firm client we are seeking a Senior Account Executive for Media Relations. The successful applicant will execute media campaigns for major international clients; pitch and place features, reviews and news stories to newspapers, magazines and online and broadcast media both nationally and internationally; write, edit and proofread media releases and related materials;  organize media events; update databases and mailing lists; research new media contacts and grow relationships; recruit, train and manage interns; work with marketing team to incorporate social media into outreach; other duties as necessary.  The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in arts & culture PR and communications with agency experience preferred; a proven record of results in placing stories and obtaining coverage; in-depth knowledge of media and developed contact list of key editors, writers and producers; and excellent communications, writing and organizational skills.  Strong technical skills including Microsoft, Photoshop, PowerPoint, PC/Mac compatibility and experience with HTML templates are required; ability to travel and in-depth knowledge of the visual arts are essential.   Languages a plus.  An exciting position for an ambitious, independent, hard-working self-starter.  Competitive salary and excellent benefits.  Please send resume with detailed cover letter and contact information for at least three references to [log in to unmask]
