I read the product description on Ultra Ever Dry and it contains a proprietary nanoparticle polymer suspended mostly in xylene and other solvents. It is NOT transparent and comes in a semi-opaque white unless another color is specified. In outdoor environments it lasts 2 - 6 months.

Since s
tone is porous, and historic and ancient stone even more so, there is no scientific information on how this product would interact - especially nanoparticles and pigments soaking in and staining the stone - and no long term ageing studies which are a standard part of conservation science studies of materials.

So I would no
t consider using this product on a work of art or historic object.

Again - define
the condition issue first then find the safest way to address it.

Cheers!

military personnel are discussing this product and here is one quote which fits your needs
----“The SE 7.6.110 formula’s longevity in use is susceptible to environmental conditions (UV / abrasion). This coating will generally last 2-8 months in direct sunlight and outdoor conditions before recoating of the top coat would be required...."

another entry mentions the change in color of a surface.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Ultra Ever Dry

Colleagues,

Does anyone have any knowledge of this product? It is a waterproofing coating
and we are considering it for a marble sculpture that will be outside but wanted
to check if anyone has used it or knows why one shouldn't.

Thanks for any help.

Best,

Gail
