Katie,

Now I'm curious. Would you be willing to send along a photo of the text? I'm only an intermediate-level student of the Chinese language, but perhaps I might be able to add to Patty's student's translation.

Katie,

Here is what my Chinese exchange student was able to translate from the picture you sent. I Hope this helps.

Hey mom! It is traditional chinese. From right to left, it is "General Nuode Chen preciously keeps" ; "act bravely for justiceā€; i can't really read this line. it says something like Chinese American XXX but I can't recognize the fifth and the last characters in this line; "Republic of China, year 34, September".

Patty

Hello,
We have a silver pitcher that was given to a Lt General in the Air Force in 1945. It has a Chinese inscription, and I am looking for someone to help me translate it. If anyone has suggestions of who I could contact, or could translate for me, please email me at [log in to unmask].
Thanks,
