Did you know that the majority of registrants in the upcoming Summer
Educational Institute for Visual Resources and Image Management heard about SEI through a colleague? Help shape the next generation of image
collection managers: recommend this valuable training opportunity to someone
you know. Registration spots are filling up quickly!
Currently in its tenth year as a joint program between The
Art Libraries Society/North America (ARLIS/NA) and the Visual Resources
Association Foundation (VRAF), SEI 2013 will be held for a second year at the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from June 18-21, 2013. This intensive
workshop specifically addresses the requirements of today’s professional.
Expert instructors will cover intellectual property rights, digital imaging,
metadata and cataloging, the essential tools of image management, and how to
expand your professional role. Attendees will also have an opportunity to
discuss and brainstorm on a range of issues, from new media and marketing
visual resources to professional development and future career roles.
The SEI curriculum is suited to information professionals new
to the field, as well as more experienced professionals eager to respond to
fast-changing technological advancements and job requirements. Individuals
serving in a range of professional roles have benefitted from past SEIs,
including visual resources professionals, university and public librarians,
archivists, and museum professionals responsible for image rights and reproductions. Reduced tuition is offered to
VRA and ARLIS/NA members. Applications are also accepted through March 8 for
five scholarships from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.
