Senior Auction Specialists, Multiple Positions, New York City
For our renowned international arts business client, we are seeking Senior Auction Specialists in multiple areas, including Photography & Prints. Successful candidates will work to source property for sale with a focus on 20th Century and Contemporary work in the above mediums; create and develop long-term client relationships; identify and generate new sources of business, including establishing parameters for targeting new sellers of property for the auctions; manage existing client accounts; work with marketing, administration and other sales staff to determine and meet company and client goals. Detailed knowledge of the international art market, a developed client list and strong general knowledge of international contemporary and modern art are essential. An excellent position for a proactive, business-oriented team player and strategic thinker with the proven ability to perform in a highly competitive market. The ideal applicants will have a BA in Art History or related discipline; a minimum of 5 – 8 years’ experience in an auction house or art gallery with proven sales history; and exceptional communications, networking and negotiating skills.
