JOB POSTING FOR: HASTINGS MUSEUM MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR
HOURS: Approximately 40 hours/week
WAGES: $2,777.15 - $3,797.73 per month
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Plan and manage all marketing, publicity, public relations, advertising and community relations to produce a high level of visibility and public awareness. Marketing experience should include developing the components of a marketing plan and identifying priorities and goals. A strong background in writing, preparing and reviewing effective, creative and professional copy for various publications and media, and experience in usage of new media technologies is essential. Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Advertising, or related field plus four years marketing experience. Museum or nonprofit experience a plus. Knowledge of history museums is preferred.

The Hastings Museum is a natural and cultural history museum with a large format digital 3D theater and planetarium located in Hastings, Nebraska. The mission of the museum is to bring to life the natural and cultural history of Hastings, Adams County and the Great Plains of Nebraska. The collection consists of prehistoric to historic specimens of animals and recent historical objects typical of the Great Plains region.
