Sales Director, New York Gallery, Chelsea For our rapidly-expanding, internationally known New York gallery client we are seeing a Sales Director. The successful applicant will work with the gallery director to develop sales strategies, conduct sales of primary and secondary market work with a focus on primary market, develop and maintain new and existing client relations, manage and update client lists, liaise with 4-5 gallery artists to assist them with scheduling, production issues and client interaction; create, develop and oversee PR and updates to clients and prospective clients, respond to press queries, assist with all aspects of art fair participation, organize and host openings and special events, represent the gallery at other organizational programs, other duties as necessary. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years experience in a gallery or auction house, proven sales record in primary and secondary market work and strong knowledge of contemporary art and the international art market. BA in Art History required: excellent communications, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Some travel for art fairs necessary.
