Hi,

I work in Windows environment, and recently have upgraded to a new laptop, and a new external 22" monitor(big enough for me). I work with graphics, and use Adobe CS6.

I am using Asus laptop and monitor, and extremely happy with this setup. The high screen resolution(1920x1080) and great color work great with graphic work. Computer is fast, has a "instant on" start-up, 8GB RAM(upgradable to 16) and higher processing speed (Intel Core i-7, Quad Core, 2.2 GHz)  (very similar to Ultrabooks, without ultra-sleek look  and price tag ;). It was important to me to have separate memory for video: it has 2GB Ndividia video card, and good sound. This laptop is quiet, and does not overheat at all (Samsungs can get noisy, and Toshibas are known to overheat)
Asus HDMI monitor, as well, has great resolution, color and clarity. Screens on the laptop and monitor match perfectly colorwise. Monitor has multiple interfaces, which allow greater flexibility, always a plus.
Adobe CS6 works great on this set up - quick, fluid work-environment. Absolutely no complains.

In Windows environment it is more important to have certain specifications important for you, then a specific brand. As always, higher budget will allow best performance. It is all about a perfect compromise. If your budget allows, it is worth to look into Ultrabooks - the are good-looking machines with great capacities (Asus, Samsung, Toshiba, Acer (on lower end). Ultrabooks are kind of alternatives to Mac. Technology for LCD screens is constantly improving, and you may need to look around for best screen for you - as options are many. Now, touchscreen is an option, with Window 8 released. Another important thought - make sure your laptop has all required ports - the set up varies from laptop to laptop depending on uses.

Again, I have been having good experience with Asus machines - good color, good sound. However, my budget does not permit an Ultrabook, but i came very close shopping around. I gave up some slick look, and my laptop is a little heavier and bulkier - but it work great! I have had this computer for under a year, and have little experience with Asus over a longer period off time.
