The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Arts Paper Conservator institutes and manages the Paper Conservation Laboratory. Develops and recommends preservation policies, and undertakes conservation treatments for the Ringling Museum collection of works on paper. Develops a comprehensive preventative maintenance and treatment long-term plan for photographs, prints, drawings, circus posters, ephemera, rare books, manuscripts, and miniatures. Performs treatment on work on paper using current museum industry accepted conservation methods.

Job Requirements

Master's degree and five years of experience related to the duties of the position; or Bachelor's degree and seven years of experience related to the duties of the position.

Knowledge of standard conservation practices. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of collections management to include proper handling, installation, preservation and/or maintenance.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships; and prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Position requires a valid driver's license.
