Sincerely, Samantha Craig _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) is delighted to announce that, for the first time in 60 years, the Institute will be able to offer funding to archaeologists for excavation projects, thanks to the generous support of former AIA Board Member Lloyd E. Cotsen. Please check the following link for more information: http://archaeological.org/grants/10032. *Deadline:* December 1, 2012 *Amount*: The Cotsen Excavation Grant Program provides two grants per year of up to $25,000 each. One grant will be awarded to a first time project director launching a new project while the second grant will be open to all professionals working in the field. *Requirements*: Applicants must be AIA members in good standing and must have a Ph.D. in archaeology or a related field. Applicants normally should be the primary permit holder for the excavation. Permit must be obtained before funds are dispersed. *Restrictions*: As a policy, the Archaeological Institute of America does not provide for grant funds to be allocated to overhead costs. Funds may not be used for survey expenses and equipment, publication, or for salaries for principal investigators. *Reporting*: Grant winners are expected to provide a 200-500 word update for the AIA website either from the field or immediately upon completing the funded field season. A final report with a reconciled budget is due within 6 months of the completion of the field season. Grant winners agree to present a poster at the AIA Annual Meeting following receipt of the grant. *Application*: Download application questions<http://archaeological.org/sites/default/files/files/2012%20Application%281%29.pdf>. *Contact:* Ben Thomas [log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]> ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
