We looked into it before we purchased new carpet. I was given the idea by the beautiful floors in friends' homes. During our decision making, I put a note on the List. It was about 3 years ago and I don't remember all of the responses but I do remember it was discouraged. We chose to continue with carpet but to use squares for a few reasons. That could be another conversation. The reason we didn't go with bamboo is that grit from ice removal in the winter (you, of course, won't have to deal with that) and dirt from around town on and off sidewalks are tracked in and would chip the wood. In addition the carpet is a sound collector. Wood floors can be very noisy. After much discussion, we decided that it wouldn't work in the museum. I was disappointed but now love our carpet squares.

Maybe some of those who responded to my request for comments can chime in.

Does anyone have any experience with using bamboo flooring in a museum
setting? In particular I'm wondering about durability and type used.
