Our museum has a rich film and videotaped oral history collection and we are using video files in our public programs more and more frequently. We have found that, while PowerPoint is effective for showing photographs and small video files in a seamless way, we lose significant film quality by converting videos to a format that PowerPoint accepts. In addition, PowerPoint can become unstable when longer video files are embedded, causing the entire slideshow to hang up.
Are you familiar with another presentation software that handles video files well? Or, have you come up with other solutions for managing multi-media presentations in ways that are seamless to audiences?
Thanks for any advice you might be willing to share…we’ve got wonderful material and we want it to shine!
