Hm, was there someone pleading for low resolution jpgs? Have I missed 
that?:-)

The resolution and size is always depending on the purpose. Before 
planning too much time for scanning and money for storage capacities, it 
would be useful to ask oneself if you really want a highway poster 6 x 4 
meters in excellent quality.
By the way, as a publication house we know quite well what it means to 
receive low resolution jpgs from our authors.
