Dear List Members,

California Girl Productions is pleased to announce that “Judy Chicago & the California Girls”, a fascinating historic document on the iconic artist, is now being offered at a low, individual price for personal use.  The film may also be purchased at the institutional rate for museums, universities, and libraries.

“Judy Chicago & the California Girls” covers the artist’s work at Fresno State College in the early ‘70s and her creation of the Feminist Art Program there.  About the film, Judy’s biographer Gail Levin has said, “’
Judy Chicago & the California Girls’ is a lively and engaging documentary on a significant moment in the history of feminist art and pedagogy.”

The film explores seminal examples of feminist performance art, footage on radical feminist Ti-Grace Atkinson, and a candid interview with the artist discussing the importance of female imagery.

Just a few of the museums that own "Judy Chicago & the California Girls" include the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museums of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and Geneva, and the Cleveland Museum of Art.

Please visit our website for more information and to view clips, http://www.judychicagoandthecaliforniagirls.com.  The film may be purchased in a closed caption version, as a DVD, or for upload to your institution’s internal server.  Purchase orders are also accepted at  the institutional rate.

Sincerely,

Judith Dancoff
