Position:  New Media Strategist

Department:  Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington

 

Responsibilities:

George Washington’s Mount Vernon has an employment opportunity for a New Media Strategist to create programs for our Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington.  As an expert in the entire gamut of research technologies as well as the Web and new media, the Strategist will bring together the traditional work of scholarship and public outreach, and facilitate new kinds of research, discovery, community and new external partnerships. Creative and effective dissemination of Library initiatives to various constituencies is a critical focus of the position.   

 

Qualifications:

·                  Skill in program management, administration, and staff supervision 

·                  Fluency with current social media and expert awareness of other electronic outlets for content delivery

·                  Knowledge of the development, use, integration and support of Internet applications and software

Position:  Director of Leadership Programs 

Department:  Education

 

Responsibilities:

The Education Department at George Washington’s Mount Vernon seeks candidates for a new position: Director of Leadership Programs. The Director will be expected to develop a portfolio of leadership training using Washington’s model of excellence as a template for contemporary leadership and success.  Programs will have a sound curriculum, incorporate scholarship, and provide inspiration.

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing, planning and managing leadership programs
  • Experience in marketing programs and recruiting attendees
  • A Master's degree, preferably in education
