We do allow the use of images from our collection for online, I have to say it is almost impossible to "control" those images but we do work with a specialized group of patrons since we focus mostly on osteopathic medicine. You can see our polices and fee schedule on our website, we also ask for the links so we can double check for any mistakes. If you would like me to send you copies of our forms let me know.
Our museum has an extensive photograph collection, and we have many request for copies of the photos: either for personal reasons, or for business purposes. The museum had adopted two forms many years ago for these requests: a Permission to Publish and a Permission to Reproduce. Each form has listed prices for prints, negatives, etc. These forms do not include any prices or options for digital images or cds. Unfortunately, this is what a lot of requests have come to. We are curious to see what other museums are doing (or not) for digital images. How do you charge? How do you keep "control" over the image? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
