So has UI had an actual museum studies PROGRAM or has it had a teaching museum for 100 years. 'Cuz Beloit's only had a PROGRAM since the early '80s but we've had a teaching museum (integral to student learning at beloit and predating the anthropology department by decades) since 1894. What's that, like 118years?

Just sayin'

Hi Dawn,

If you believe this article, then it looks like my home state - Iowa - holds the record:

Nothing like a good old state rivalry.  But Wisconsin has Beloit too, also another good program ;-)

I am wondering if there is a Museum Studies Program older than ours, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee/Milwaukee Public Museum Program, established in 1963. I always tell people we are ONE of the oldest in the country but it’s possible that we are THE oldest.

Many thanks for any additional insights,
