Did they accept women in 1894? So has UI had an actual museum studies PROGRAM or has it had a teaching museum for 100 years. 'Cuz Beloit's only had a PROGRAM since the early '80s but we've had a teaching museum (integral to student learning at beloit and predating the anthropology department by decades) since 1894. What's that, like 118years? Just sayin' ;-) Dan On Tue, Apr 24, 2012 at 2:42 PM, Jill Keehner <[log in to unmask]> wrote: Hi Dawn, If you believe this article, then it looks like my home state - Iowa - holds the record: http://fyi.uiowa.edu/04/25/museum-studies-exhibit/ Nothing like a good old state rivalry. But Wisconsin has Beloit too, also another good program ;-) Jill Keehner Düsseldorf, Germany --- On Tue, 4/24/12, Scher Thomae, Dawn <[log in to unmask]> wrote: From: Scher Thomae, Dawn <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Re: [MUSEUM-L] Oldest Museum Studies Program in the Country? I always tell people we are ONE of the oldest in the country but it's possible that we are THE oldest.
