I haven't seen any mention of the Building Museums conference on this list.  I've been going to this conference for the last few years and it is immensely useful if you are contemplating any kind of building project, even if that contemplation is only a gleam in in your eye, so to speak.  Lots of real-world experiences from museums who have been through it and lots of people who have know the ins and outs of museum projects. 

Unfortunately, it is coming right up, Sunday through Tuesday. March 4-6. But it is in Philadelphia, so it is readily accessible at least to east-coasters.
