The Custom House Maritime Museum organized a great regional collaborative effort last July with *Sentinels on the Sound: A Celebration of New London's Lighthouse Heritage*<http://www.nlmaritimesociety.org/2011LighthouseWeekend.html>. The museum had just adopted a lighthouse and wanted to garner some attention for it (& lighthouse preservation) with a symposium, tours, and other special events. The link shows how events (& partners) lined up, chronologically, over the three-day weekend. The response, in fact, was overwhelming--we could not handle it. --Susan On Tue, Jan 24, 2012 at 1:43 PM, Robin Westervelt < [log in to unmask]> wrote: > Cherie, > > I'm not sure if you are looking for current collaborations or a general > best practices model, but you might check out AAM's *Museums in the Life > of a Community; Strategies for Community Partnerships* (1995).
