COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT

 

The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) is a state agency and membership organization that is fully accredited by the American Association of Museums.  The KHS mission is to engage people in the exploration of the Commonwealth’s diverse heritage by providing connections to the past, perspective on the present and inspiration for the future.

 

Do you have a passion for cataloging historical artifacts? The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) seeks a detail-oriented individual to catalog historical artifacts and care for collections. This position helps the Museum Collections and Exhibition team catalog artifacts, take digital photos and manage the online database. This is a team-oriented position working behind the scenes at the Kentucky Historical Society.

 

Minimum requirements are a Master’s degree in museum studies, history or a related field with demonstrated experience cataloging historical artifacts in a museum. Knowledge of Past Perfect is highly desirable, as is proven skill in creating storage mounts and monitoring pest management programs.
