Call for Applications for the
2012 Museum Education Marketplace of Ideas

Held at the 2012 AAM Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, MN on
Monday, April 30, 2012, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Do you have a new program model, study, or interpretive materials that you'd like to share with your colleagues in a more informal, intimate setting than a session panel? Are you a museum studies student interested in sharing your thesis project and research in education? If so, the Museum Education Marketplace of Ideas may be your perfect venue!

The Marketplace of Ideas showcases educators and organizations that are experimenting with new ideas in learning in museum environments, innovations in exhibition interpretation, creative community partnerships, models for program evaluation, engaging use of new technologies, and other ways museums of all disciplines are developing engaging experiences. Each participating organization or individual displays their materials at a table and has the opportunity to talk individually with fellow colleagues about the successes and lessons learned from your project.

The theme for this year's Marketplace is Engaging Communities, Creating Community. Talk one-on-one with colleagues about proven models and pilot projects that support the conference them of Community through programs, partnerships, interpretation, and other participatory opportunities, as well as how success is measured in this area. Leave with fresh ideas for ways to connect and build relationships with your community and visitors of all ages.

Application is available at: http://www.edcom.org/Marketplace.asp. Applications are due Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Please contact Leah Fox at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> with any questions or to submit an application.
