VSA is celebrating its 25th conference this year, and we hope that you will join us in reflecting on our past, celebrating our achievements as a community, and appraising our current work within the context of informal learning institutions and their communities. In this milestone year, VSA will take the opportunity to discuss how visitor studies can help envision and shape the role of museums within our increasingly diverse and complex societies.

Building from VSA’s previous conference themes of building public value and sustaining a community of learners, the 2012 conference will offer a great opportunity to hear from those that created VSA’s past and are charting VSA’s future. Through a variety of formats, our goal is to provide a lively venue for addressing some the questions that will continue to shape our field for years to come.

Visit the VSA conference page for the submission forms and more information: http://visitorstudies.org/conference-overview

The deadline for both submissions is Friday, December 9, 2011. The conference will be held July 26-28, 2012 in Raleigh, NC.

The Visitor Studies Association is today’s premier professional organization focusing on all facets of the visitor experience in museums, zoos, nature centers, visitor centers, historic sites, parks and other informal learning environments. For 25 years, our conferences have been at the forefront of the field, providing tools and inspiration to better understand, attract, educate and serve visitors.
