I am researching a position for a new museum opening in North Carolina and have a few questions for which I need some assistance.  The position has to do with "Visitor and Member Services" and will be responsible for keeping track of museum exhibit and program attendance, managing volunteers and docents, scheduling tour groups, correspondence between the museum and members, encouraging new membership, etc.
 
1.  If you have a similar position at your site, what is the job title? Does this person perform other functions than those listed above?
 
2.  How does your site manage admissions tracking?  The museum is interested in keeping track of attendance (and visitor/member demographics), as I mentioned, and is also looking to offer online ticketing. Using a specific (quite pricey) software is being encouraged, which would allow for a gradual phasing in of all its components, but the museum is also exploring its more cost-effective options.
