The Senior Curator helps coordinate exhibit and artifact research and oversees the Society’s permanent exhibition, A Kentucky Journey. This team-oriented position within the Museum Collections and Exhibitions department has responsibility for both behind the scenes collections work AND public engagement.
Minimum requirements are an M.A. in History, Museum Studies or a related field with five years curatorial experience and a demonstrated commitment to the concept of informal history learning. Proven skill in working with creative teams and developing innovative collections-driven programs is highly desirable. Effective management experience is preferred, but not required. The position is based in
Monthly salary is $3750.00. Benefits include paid health and life insurance, vacation and sick leave, holiday pay, state retirement, and optional deferred compensation plan.
