Art and Humanities Coordinator

 

The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is currently recruiting an Art and Humanities Coordinator.  The Art and Humanities Coordinator is responsible for developing, leading, overseeing, and evaluating a variety of interdisciplinary art and humanities-based programs for children ages 5-12 and their caregivers that utilize the Museum’s exhibits and gardens, including but not limited to onsite school programs, daily floor programs, homeschool programs, discovery trunks, and camps.  The Art and Humanities Coordinator also oversees the Visiting Artist Series, Art Studio, and the Art Abounding area, developing and implementing daily art activities that rotate on a bi-weekly basis. The Arts and Humanities Coordinator works very closely with the Curator of Collections in interpreting our Fine Art and O’Connell World Culture Collections.

 

Additional duties include: teaching science-based and early childhood programs on a regular basis, overseeing the art portions of the education budget, working with the Director of External Affairs to publicize art and humanities program offerings, assisting with writing grants related to art and humanities education, and acting as a weekend lead education supervisor.  This is a full-time (40+ hours/week), salaried position with benefits. Please note: this is a Tuesday through Saturday position.

 

 

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in art education, fine arts, or related field is required; master’s degree preferred

·         Two- three years experience with art program development and/ or teaching

·         Must be outgoing, self-motivated and enjoy working with the public

·         Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

·         Bilingual candidates preferred

·         Must pass a background check and be fingerprinted.  Employment is contingent upon clear background check.

Science and Math Coordinator

The Science and Math Coordinator is responsible for developing, leading, overseeing, and evaluating a variety of interdisciplinary science, mathematics, and environmental education-based programs for children ages 5-12 and their caregivers that utilize the Museum’s exhibits and gardens, including but not limited to onsite school programs, daily floor programs, homeschool programs, discovery trunks, and camps. In addition, the Science and Math Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates the C’mon Overnight program, including budgeting, staffing, programs, supplies, and marketing.

 

Additional duties include: teaching arts and humanities-based programs and early childhood programs on a regular basis, working with the Director of External Affairs to publicize STEM program offerings, assisting with writing grants related to STEM education, and acting as a weekend lead education supervisor. This is a full-time (40+ hours/week), salaried position with benefits. Please note: this is a Tuesday through Saturday position.

Early Childhood Coordinator

The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is currently recruiting an Early Childhood Coordinator. The Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for developing, leading, overseeing, and evaluating a variety of interdisciplinary early childhood programs in the arts, sciences and humanities for children under 5 and their caregivers that utilize the Museum’s exhibits and gardens, including but not limited to onsite school programs, daily floor programs, camps, and our fee-based Baby and Me programs. The Early Childhood Coordinator also develops, implements, teaches, and evaluates parenting education classes, workshops, and speakers series.  In addition, the Early Childhood Coordinator oversees the Family Resource Library, including purchasing, cataloging, and annual inventory.

 

Additional duties include: teaching arts, humanities and science programs for children 5-12 on a regular basis, working with the Director of External Affairs to publicize early childhood program offerings, assisting with writing grants related to early childhood education, and acting as a weekend lead education supervisor. This is a full-time (40+ hours/week), salaried position with benefits. Please note: this is a Sunday through Thursday position.
