Nilfisk make a good one. I have not used it but have used others made by them, which are great.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Vacuuming Stairs in Historic House
Hello Museum L. We've been using an over-the-shoulder style backpack vacuum to clean the stairs in our historic house. We can no longer locate bags for this particular model and are looking into a replacement.
What's your favorite vacuum style or method to vacuum stairs in an historic interior?
