Our stairs are very narrow and hard to get a vacuum up - we don't own a backpack vac - so between vacuumings, we brush starting at the top, then gather the leavings at the bottom and vacuum them up. Not high tech, but it works. (wooden stairs, kinda rough, no carpet)

Subject: Vacuuming Stairs in Historic House

Hello Museum L. We've been using an over-the-shoulder style backpack vacuum to clean the stairs in our historic house. We can no longer locate bags for this particular model and are looking into a replacement.

What's your favorite vacuum style or method to vacuum stairs in an historic interior?

Thanks.
Cheryl Munyer
