Our stairs are very narrow and hard to get a vacuum up - we don't own a backpack vac - so between vacuumings, we brush starting at the top, then gather the leavings at the bottom and vacuum them up. Not high tech, but it works. We've been using an over-the-shoulder style backpack vacuum to clean the stairs in our historic house. We can no longer locate bags for this particular model and are looking into a replacement. What's your favorite vacuum style or method to vacuum stairs in an historic interior? Thanks.
